When I was a young girl, I loved looking into my mother’s jewelry drawer. She had a lot of rhinestone earrings, bracelets, and necklaces—which were the style at the time. When the lights hit them just right, they really dazzled. I would often open the drawer and just stare at the sparkle.
Now decades later, I still love of sparkly jewelry. Which is why I enjoy making jewelry out of Swarovski crystals (the most sparkly crystals made) and dichroic glass. I also love making jewelry with pearls and natural stones—particularly when they’re faceted and shiny.
I started making jewelry after a serious knee injury ended my social tennis “career.” To keep busy, I took one jewelry-making class on a lark, and never stopped. After I started selling my jewelry, customers often told me that they enjoyed the compliments they received while wearing it. So, they inspired my tagline — “Jewelry that gets noticed.”
