I love to paint animals in hopes that their personality shows through in the paintings. I like to imagine the animals I paint in funny situations that make the viewer smile. We all love our pets, but I get more of a kick out of painting pigs and chickens!
I recently turned serious when I began my African wildlife series of paintings. I guess the animals were so fierce and dangerous, that I had to paint them that way.
Drawing has been a part of my life since my childhood in Colorado. As an accomplished pen and ink artist, I have drawn over 200 local homes and landmarks. For over 25 years, I have also worked as a graphic designer in the communications firm I own with my husband in Winchester, Virginia. In addition, I have taught graphic design at Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, WV, presented design workshops at Lord Fairfax Community College, and taught beginning and intermedia watercolor classes at my Back Lot Studio.
I am a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society.
