Fiber Art/Wearable Art

Susan TraskI am an aircraft mechanic by trade, and love to work with my hands. I raise alpacas at Earth Wind and Fleece, a small farm in Lovettsville, Va., and hand-dyes my alpaca fiber along with other fibers and textiles. I enjoy creating unique things with fiber, including one-of-a-kind felted scarves, and other functional fiber art such as clocks.

Felting is a magical tactile experience that provides me with endless opportunities for satisfying my creative spirit. Transforming a pile of fibers into coherent textiles and objects amazes me every time. My work is free-form, fluid and intuitive. I rarely begin with a preconceived end in mind. My hope is that when you view my work, something awakens within you, touches your spirit, and enriches your world.
